Small Business Matters: Creative & Digital Day on Friday 1 December

Join us in celebrating Sunderland’s Small Businesses in the run up to Small Business Saturday. MAKE it Sunderland together with FSB, One Sunderland, North East BiC, the Mussel Club and Sunderland Business Network are supporting a range of events with a four day celebration in the lead up to Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Matters: Creative & Digital Day on Friday 1 December brings together a host of the Software Centre’s businesses who work in the field of creative and digital technology, who will be on hand to showcase their products and talk to businesses or those individuals interesting in starting up their own business. You will have the opportunity to talk business ideas and take part in‘how to pitch’ sessions with Sunderland Software City and the Digital Catapult, as well as providing networking and collaboration opportunities.

Drop into the social media and marketing clinic, take part in an ecommerce digital taster session and see the possibilities of how 3D Printing can help and support your business. Sunderland City College will also be on hand to talk about apprenticeships and how they can help small businesses.

As well as our tech and digital companies exhibiting their product and technology, we will also be screening films from ‘Sunderland Shorts’ in the Software Centre Cinema room, Sunderland College  present ‘The salon experience’ and will be offering manicures and hand massages, and lite-bites prepared by the City Bistro’s Chefs. We will be having a cookery demonstration and talk with free tasters from Carolyn Hough of The Canny Kitchen.

A great opportunity to meet and mingle with the businesses.

Coatsink – who will showcasing their latest portfolio of games, Nintendo Switch, Samsung Gear (VR) Oculus Rift (VR)

Roar Motion – who will showcasing their DJ1 Inspire 2 Drone.

New World Designs – setting up their bullet time photography rig (work commitments allowing)

Think Biscuit – showcasing their artwork

RGB Media – showcasing the services they can offer and provide

Joined in Life – displaying ethically produced t-shirts with a social angle

Bureau Design – showcasing the services they offer and can provide

McDonough Marketing – who will be running marketing workshops

Software City – providing free pitching sessions within their office space

Along with colleagues from the council’s Business Investment Team.
