New record in 2017 for the Nissan Sunderland plant
The Nissan plant in Sunderland is about to reach a new record in 2017 in both production and financial terms.
The British factory will generate revenues of 6.4 billion pounds and above all will assemble 519 thousand units, 324 thousand of which are Qashqai (296 thousand in 2016).
Active for 30 years, the plant also celebrated the production of the 50,000th Leaf unit during the year, confirming the leadership of the Japanese company in the sector (just in recent days, the European production of the second generation of the EV model began). As European orders for the all-new 2018 Nissan LEAF charge past 10,000 in just two months, Nissan GB has launched a new online reservation tool that will make ordering the new LEAF, a simple process.
Juke also is produced at the plant, built in 111 thousand units. Nissan has already announced that in Sunderland it will produce from 2020 the next generation of the Qashqai with the X-Trail.
